LED-B Cube - Layer thickness measurement for automated coating processes.
The compact OptiSense LED-B Cube sensors enable precise, non-contact coating thickness measurement for powder and liquid coatings. Their larger measurement field compared to laser sensors makes them particularly suitable for rough and grainy surfaces.
For powder coatings, the sensors automatically calculate the expected coating thickness—taking shrinkage into account—even before curing. Measurements are largely independent of powder color and type on both metallic and non-metallic substrates. For special powders, custom measurement applications are possible through calibration. Measurements after the coating has cured are also supported.
For automated system integration: For automated system integration: The sensors can be directly integrated into industrial control systems via a PLC interface. The standard connection is via PROFINET; customer-specific interface adaptations are possible. An integrated safety loop supports integration into the plant environment.
The compact, cube-shaped housing with a selectable cable connection allows for flexible mounting. The generous contact surface ensures efficient heat dissipation.
The LED-B Cube sensors are available in two versions:
- 33-mm variant: For close-up measurements in cases of restricted component geometry.
- 75-mm variant: Standard version with an extended depth-of-field. Suited for measurements on moving components on belt or chain conveyors.
