LED-B Gun – Determine the final coating thickness before curing
With the mobile OptiSense LED-B Gun, the expected layer thickness of a powder coating can be determined quickly, reliably, and without contact—even before curing.
The measuring device detects the freshly applied powder layer and automatically calculates the final coating thickness, accounting for shrinkage during the curing process. Measurements can be performed-largely independent of powder color or type-on a wide variety of substrates, such as metal, wood, glass, or plastic. For specialized powders, custom measurement applications can be created through a referencing process.
Identify deviations, avoid costs: Over-coating and under-coating can be identified and corrected while still in the coating booth. This reduces powder consumption, energy costs, and time-consuming rework, while also increasing process reliability.
The LED-B Gun is available in two versions:
- 33-mm variant: For close-up measurements in cases of restricted component geometry.
- 75-mm variant: Standard version with an extended depth-of-field. Suited for measurements on moving components on belt or chain conveyors.
